Candide THOVEX 2nd at the FWT stage in Chamonix

Today the second competition of the Freeride World Tour took place on the slopes of the north-east face of the Aiguille Pourrie in Chamonix, replacing the Nissan Russian Adventure (which had to be cancelled due to very bad weather conditions).
The frenchies turned out to be very good once again, as the podium is 100% French (1st Julien LOPEZ, 2nd Candide THOVEX, 3rd Seb MICHAUD as is Henrik WINDSTEDT). Thanks to his two places on the podiums, Candide has taken the lead of the general ranking. A very good performance which allows us to be totally hopeful for the future steps of the competition and which backs up his entry in the world of freeride.

On the other hand Richard PERMIN finishes at the 15th place and Adrien COIRIER at the 18th.

Congratulations to our team of riders and good luck for the next stages!

X-Games finals in Aspen

Enormous day for Frenchies today!!
After the victory of Candide in Chamonix, Kevin Roland and Xav Bertoni finish respectively 1st and 3rd at pipefinals of X-Games ! Congratulations to these 3 frenchies, they killed it today !

The X-cross final also took place today, on a long and very technical track.
Our Alsatian frenchy Xavier kuhn, who had finished 6th on the qualifs, did not take risks on this final not to be wounded before the Olympics Games of Vancouver.
This race was not an objective for him but more one drive to remain in race before Vancouver. He nevertheless showed that it was present during the runs of qualifiers.
Our Xav feels good so one goal :podium in Vancouver!!

On his side, our rider Justin Dorey did not let himself cut down by his nonqualication with the pipe finals and gains the silver medal in the category Best Tricks!

The coreUPT.com team thus sets out this year again with 2 medals at X-Games !

A huge BRAVO to our champions!!

CANDIDE THOVEX WINS NISSAN FREERIDE OF CHAMONIX!

Candide wins his first Freeride World Tour event…
After the cancellation of the stage of Sotchi, the unloading of Candide Thovex on the circuit of Freeride World Tour has to await the stage of Chamonix.
A little delay thus, but reassure: the pendulums were given per hour, with an unstoppable precision since Candide Thovex gains this stage in front of Kaj Zakrisson and Tim Dutton… Useless to say that the performance makes a bomb effect !
After its victory in Red Bull Linecatcher, Candide thus confirms the relevance of its choice, and of course the value of its ski…

Adrien Coirier gone 8th and Richard unfortunaly took the 20th place.

We wish them good luck for the continuation of Nissan Freeride World Tour!
We wish them good luck for

Congrats TJ Schiller !! 2nde place at the Big Air in Aspen X-Games !!

Here we are and so stoked on Tj 2nd place! First podium for the coreUPT.com team here in Aspen for the X-Games !
After missing his entry during the slopestyle qualifiers, our Tj Schiller has shown us that he wasn’t there to chill. He just kicked ass yesterday during the Big Air finals with sick runs and a trick coming out of nowhere : a double cork 1600 !!
What to say except THANK YOU TJ ??
Stay tuned for the X-cross finals with Xavier Kuhn and Colby West and Justin Dorey for pipe finals tomorrow !

2nd Dew Tour Ski Slopestyle Finals

Today was the last day of the Winter Dew Tour stop in Snow Basin, Utah. Today began at 8am with a short 1-hour practice before finals started. Everyone in finals was bringing their A game with very tech, stomped runs. Almost every athlete scoring in the 80’s or higher.

TJ was looking really good in the beginning of his first run but missed his pop on the switch double 900, landing on his head and side. The crash looked really bad and the medical staff were reluctant to even let him stand up. After clearing a neurological exam and tracking down a new helmet, TJ headed back to the top to do his second run. Although suffering from a concussion and a soar body, he managed to lay down the tricks he had planned for his first run and stomped it! The results for slope finals are as follows;

Tom Wallisch – 94.75
Andreas Hatveit – 93.63
Bobby Brown – 93.25
Sammy Carlson – 91.25
Jossi Wells – 87.38
Phil Casabon – 85.75
Elias Ambuhl – 84.25
Alexis Godbout – 84.20
Ian Cosco – 84.13
TJ Schiller – 84.00
Charles Gagnier – 83.00
McRae Williams – 81.00

Now that the second Dew Tour stop has finished up, TJ is going to be skiing at Park City for a few days shooting with Poorboyz, Chug, and Walker. Be sure to tune in for the updates about everything leading up to the X-Games.

Winder Dew Tour by Tj Schiller

Yesterday was the first day of practice for both slopestyle and halfpipe at the Snowbasin

Basin stop of the Winter Dew Tour. Slope practice began bright and early at 8:30 for the riders to have their first chance to inspect and take runs through the course. For the most part, the athletes were somewhat thrown off by the smaller features in comparison to the Breckenridge event. The course has a very tight layout consisting of two rail features up top straight into 3 jumps, and a final feature of either a canon box or a gap to a box in the back of a Toyota Tundra.

Although the course is much smaller than most of the athletes had anticipated, they seemed to be figuring it out by the end of the training session. There were barely any doubles being attempted in the course, although Jossi landed a couple smooth double 1260’s on the last jump.

Stay tuned for more news from each day of the Dew Tour in Snow Basin, Utah.
